Try highway 50 it will take you to South Tahoe and go from there.

Lake tahoe is large effective for camping out and such throughout the time of the summer season. i assume you're able to do the two, like spend few days going around Lake Tahoe, then make your far extra than to SF. in my view, SF is effective, yet you do not choose countless days to bypass to the places that have a tendency to be the tourist attractions.
